The Three Mindsets that Exist in Nearly All People at the Same Time

How can three mindsets exist in one person at the same time? Well, it’s because our mindset is contextual. For example, think about how people choose to reward themselves.

There is a mindset of wanting a reward even when one doesn’t deserve the reward. There is also a mindset of never wanting a reward because of guilt associated with not deserving the reward. Finally, there is the mindset of work hard, play hard. This is the mindset of when one revels in rewards because they work their ass off to deserve it.

The first mindset is one of no accountability. The second mindset is one of extreme accountability but also a lack in belief that hard work pays off. Finally, the third mindset is one with a strong belief that hard work pays off and holding oneself accountable to working hard to get that pay off.

The fact is, all three of these mindsets exist in nearly all people at the same time. For example, you may sneak a treat when you don’t deserve it when it comes to your diet, but only take vacations when you can afford it.

Or you may work at a job you hate and complain about it every day. But you also refuse to put any effort into finding a career in something that drives your passion and purpose.

There are super fit people who are always unhappy and there are overweight people who are always happy. There are super rich people who take no vacations and people who live paycheck to paycheck who take vacations all the time. Then there are the people who hate their job who rarely look for a new one, and people who love their job who are always looking to grow into a better one.

The key to managing this mindset is self-awareness. Take the time to know yourself. Know the areas of your life in which you deserve it, have no accountability, and lack belief. Then, take this information and do something about it. Don’t let your mindset control you, control your mindset.
