What You Must Do After you Set a Vision and Purpose for Your Life
Unquestionably, it feels amazing when you set a clear vision for your life that you can sum up in a concrete purpose statement. Too often we go through life not knowing what we want and not knowing what it looks like when we get what we want. Getting to the point of knowing this is a big step. A step many people never take. So, it’s worth being proud of yourself once you set a vision and know your purpose.
However, there is still one difficult question that remains after you achieve the accomplishment of knowing your vision and purpose. What do you do next?
Obviously, I can’t answer the specifics of that question without knowing exactly what your vision and purpose is. But I can provide you with a rule of thumb to follow that won’t steer you wrong.
The Rule of Thumb for Your Vision and Purpose
The most important thing you must do after you set a vision and purpose for your life is to commit to a daily and weekly routine that keeps you connected to that vision and purpose until it becomes a reality.
The biggest mistake people make after they know what they want out of life is to file that knowledge away like a picture of a moment in time. If you treat your vision and purpose like that, you will lose your connection with it. It will be no different than how you will lose your connection with a picture you take today 1 year from now.
To make your vision and purpose a reality, you must act on something every day to connect with it. It doesn’t matter how small the act is. If you commit to act daily, your progress will compound. Moreover, your belief in your vision and purpose will compound. Then, before you know it, your reality will be the same as your vision.
In short, don’t make the mistake of working on your vision and purpose once a week, once a month, or whenever you feel like it. Make it a priority each and every day.
