If Parenting is About Providing Your Kids the Right Experiences, Then…

A huge part of parenting is providing the right experiences for your kids. Experiences they can learn from and that help them develop their self-confidence and self-worth.

However, you can only learn from an experience if you remember that experience. Therefore, parenting comes down to helping your kids have memorable experiences.

As I wrote yesterday while explaining the reasons why we remember losses and forget wins, the emotions associated with an experience will either increase or decrease a person’s memory of it. Given that, I believe a child’s emotional intelligence plays a major role in their learning capacity.

With all of that said….over the next few days I’m going to cover what the experts say about emotional intelligence. My goal is to find additional links between emotional intelligence and a child’s success, then share the best way to develop this critical capacity in kids.
