How I Began Providing Goal Setting and Planning For Sports Families

In August 2015, I shut down my startup Nichevertising because I realized that I wasn’t following my true passion – helping sports families pursue difficult goals while maximizing happiness on the journey.

With the help of a coach I found this purpose. My coach’s mission was to get the world on purpose with impact. I found the idea of helping others find their purpose to be exhilarating. So, after I finished up his coaching program he inspired me to start working for him to help others find their purpose.

Working with Passionate Leaders of Faith Changed My Mindset

During this time, I got heavily involved in one of our client’s faith-based mission.  In addition, I also got the opportunity to help facilitate several strategic planning retreats for several non-profit clients.  These experiences brought me closer to my faith and my purpose to serve.  Working with such passionate leaders of faith on a day to day basis changed my mindset about the possibilities for my career. And as the saying goes, change your mindset, change your life.

Helping these organizations plan and execute their strategic plans made a light bulb go off in my head.  I realized that my purpose in life was to combine my experiences from being an entrepreneur, software engineer, project manager, consultant, coach, dad, husband, and youth sports advocate.  The culmination of these experiences puts me in the unique position to help other families just like mine unlock potential hiding in plain sight.

Unlock Potential by Maximizing Happiness and Reducing Stress with Goal Setting and Planning

Research shows that happy athletes who know how to have fun while grinding have the best success rates. As a matter of fact, research also shows that proper goal setting increases happiness. What’s more, a well documented goal coupled with a realistic plan to achieve it, is a stress reliever for both parents and athletes.  I’ve experienced this first hand in my own sports family.

This is how I began providing mental skills and mindset coaching for sports families. My coaching is primarily focused on leveraging two concepts:

  • Maximizing strengths and managing weaknesses to increase happiness and resilience
  • Analyzing innate motivations to build goal pursuit plans that tap into an athlete’s self-motivation

If you are grappling with any of these issues with your children, you need a plan. Reach out to me via one or more of the social media platforms below and let’s talk about it. I would love to help you unlock potential and increase happiness in your sports family with mental skills and mindset coaching.
