The Only Shortcut That Always Helps You Reach Your Goals Faster
I always teach clients that having a shortcut mindset is bad. Having a shortcut mindset causes you to miss out on valuable experiences, breeds impatience, or may even motivate you to cheat or do something illegal to get the outcome you want.
Unquestionably, a shortcut mindset is detrimental. Temporarily getting ahead with shortcuts rarely if ever turns out to be worth it. Unless of course you use this one type of shortcut that always helps you reach your goals faster. In a word, that shortcut is CONSISTENCY.
Before you roll your eyes and write this off as an oversimplification, I want you to first do the math. If you work on a goal once a month, you have a chance to make progress 12 times in a year. If you work on a goal once a week, you have a chance to make progress 52 times in a year. That’s potentially more than a 4x increase in progress. Now, what if you work on a goal every single day? That’s a chance to make progress 365 times a year. That’s potentially more than a 7x increase in progress over weekly consistency and a whopping 30x increase over monthly consistency.
Indeed, getting somewhere 30x faster is what I call a meaningful shortcut. Moreover, it’s a shortcut that isn’t built on a shortcut mindset. What more could you ask for?
