Having a Process Mindset Doesn’t Mean the Process Must be Complicated

One of the misconceptions about the mindset of focusing on the process instead of the outcome is that this means you must have multiple complicated steps in your process to focus on. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

It’s far better to have a simple 2 or 3 step process than a complicated 5 or 6 step process. The reason why is that process itself is less important than the execution of the process. This means if you have a simple process that you can execute consistently well, your chance of success is substantially higher than if you have a complicated process you fail to execute.

Indeed, a complicated process that you can’t execute consistently is worthless. Furthermore, processes aren’t permanent. Therefore, it’s better to execute a simple process you can adjust than to wait to execute something more complicated.
