Bad Habits Fill the Void of a Lack of Intention

Bad Habits Fill the Void of a Lack of Intention

There is a simple rule of thumb I teach clients about bad habits. Bad habits are the result of impulses that fill the void of a lack of intention.

In other words, if you have a bad habit this means you didn’t have a goal, strategy, or plan to keep you focused at the time that habit developed. Goals, strategy, and plans are what create intention.

Furthermore, goals, strategy, and plans, are what make it easier for you to use discipline, self-control, and willpower to break or prevent bad habits from controlling your life.
