Stressed-Out People Can Change Their Life by Viewing Pressure Like This
Stressed-out people feel pressure when something is important. However, if everything is important then nothing is important. It’s really that simple.
Yes, there are many great techniques that with practice will work effectively to help you cope with pressure and overcome it. Unfortunately, none of those techniques work when everyday situations require coping mechanisms.
Therefore, the first thing a stressed-out person must do to cope with pressure is to stop viewing things that aren’t important as important. The outcome of most things in life just don’t matter in the long run.
It’s just a fact of life that winning today does not make you a winner and losing today does not make you a loser. Indeed, there are defining moments and it’s those moments when the pressure matters. But those moments are few and far between. Moreover, everything in between is just practice.
Once you learn to accept that the vast majority of events, dates, competitions, speeches, test, interviews, etc. are just practice, then you are ready to work on building effective coping skills to manage the pressure of the real defining moments in your life.
Until then, just learn to let go and treat each stressful moment like practice.
