How to Know if You’re Taking Your Goals for Granted
Taking goals for granted is a problem, but a problem you can fix. Setting goals can become so habitual, it’s easy to overlook the fact that you’re taking your goals for granted. Moreover, when you take your goals for granted, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut without even realizing you’re in a rut. Then, as you try to get yourself out of the rut, you don’t even realize that you need to stop overlooking your goals to get out of the rut.
This then becomes a catch 22 that causes the dreaded analysis paralysis predicament. You need the goals to get out of the rut, but your goals are why you’re in a rut. To avoid this predicament, take some time to think about your answer to these four questions:
- Do you have a specific place to manage your goals?
- Do you have a written plan with step-by-step details to make progress towards your goals using a progression?
- Does your plan take advantage of your strengths and personality type,
- Have you made progress on your plan within the last week?
