Don’t Just Trust the Process, Instead Focus on Verifying the Process
When you start to doubt yourself on a journey to pursue a difficult goal, it’s common to get advice that you must trust the process. However, the doubt you’re experiencing is likely a result of feeling like the process isn’t working. Once this feeling sets in, it won’t just go away. You must do something about it.
I recommend you trust yourself at least as much as you trust whatever process you’re using to pursue a goal. Unquestionably, there is a good chance that the reason you feel like the process isn’t working is because the process really isn’t working. It’s a fact that every process doesn’t work for everyone every time.
So, instead of just trusting the process, verify the process. This means you must build into the process a means to track and analyze progress. Without the ability to track and analyze progress, your trust is a blind trust. Besides, if you only trust with no verification, then you will rob yourself of the ability to adjust the process to make it more effective and efficient.
