Goals are for Dreamers, Processes Are for Achievers

Goals are for Dreamers, Processes Are for Achievers

Before I get anyone mad at me, let me start by saying two things. First, it’s important to set goals. Second, there is nothing wrong with being a dreamer. Now that I have that out the way, I can make my real point. Dreamers don’t get shit done; achievers do. Goals don’t make you successful, achieving a goal makes you successful.

The reality is that goals are overrated. Goals are useful, but goals are far less useful than processes. While it’s true that goals help you identify what processes you need, people set goals everyday with no intention of doing what it really takes to achieve their goals.

The bottom line is this. If you want to be a dreamer think about your goals. If you want to be an achiever, spend twice as much time thinking about your processes to make progress than you do thinking about your goals.
