Nearly Every Difficulty Adults Face Originate From One Thing
I love truisms. Sometimes their obvious, and sometimes their self-evident. However, I still do believe these rhetorical reminders provide great tools for driving home points that people take for granted.
For example, there is a simple truism about life’s difficulties that is fairly obvious, but often ignored. Fore nearly every mentally and physically healthy adult, the difficulties they face in life originate back to one thing.
BAD HABITS!
Whether it’s a financial, professional, emotional, relational, or physical health difficulty, chances are the compounding impact of bad habits are the cause.
The impact a bad habit has is fairly obvious, but highly difficult to process. Each and every day, often multiple times a day each person dealing with difficult circumstances executes some behavior that is causing the difficulty. What’s more, there is a good chance the person knows the behavior is bad.
So what gives? Well it’s simple. Bad habits feel good, and changing a bad habit feels bad. Therefore, the only time most people succeed with changing a bad habit is when a life altering event happens. Other than that, what can you do?
If someone really wants to change then I suggest starting with the three steps to behavior change suggested in this article. I also recommend understanding the 5 elements that define one’s mindset that I write about here. Finally, I recommend getting a mindset coach to help flush out the “why” behind the bad habit and the “why” behind the reason change is needed.
