Defining Success Has Limitations, But Success Has No Limitations
There are many definitions of success. Consequently, if you ask 100 people to define success, it’s likely you will get 100 different answers. Personally, John Wooden has two of my favorite definitions which I write about here and here.
The fact is and will always be that the definition of success is personal to the individual defining it. As a result, there is no limitation on how an individual can define success for themselves. Metaphorically speaking, success is infinite. If you can create a goal, no matter how small, achieving that goal can define success for your reality.
Simply stated, one person’s success may be another’s first step to success. With this in mind, while it may be fun to learn about other people’s success stories, it’s unproductive to compare these stories. Comparisons of this nature are generally unproductive. No two success stories deal with the same underlying circumstances, no two people start from the same starting line, and there is no way to know if another person’s finish line was the finish line they defined as the vision for their success.
