When Change Calls You to Seek a Coach, Mentor, or Experienced Advisor

The one thing about life that always stays the same is change. So it follows that properly dealing with change is critical for success in anything. However, not all change is created equal.

Some changes you see coming and some you don’t. Some changes are for stopping something and other changes are for starting something. Then there are the changes you control and the changes that are out of your control.

In each of these cases, there is one primary question you must answer. Is the change suppose to help or is the change suppose to hurt?

More often than not, you know when a change is hurting. But is the hurt suppose to help or is the hurt just hurting with no benefit? In addition, if the change is suppose to help, is it really helping or is it inadvertently hurting? What’s more, is this a temporary change or permanent change and is there anything you can do to control this?

In moments of change when you can’t answer these questions on your own, it’s best to get help. This is when the best course of action is to allow a third party coach, mentor, or experienced advisor guide your next step.
