Bruce Lee Quote Puts The Fear of Failure In The Context of Goal Setting
One of my top beliefs about goal setting is that if failure is not part of the process, then your goals aren’t big enough. Some people mistake this belief to think I encourage setting unrealistic goals. This could not be further from the truth.
The truth is you don’t know what’s unrealistic until you test your limits multiple times. If you fear testing your limits, you never really know how far you could go. One of my favorite quotes that sums this up in simple terms is from Bruce Lee. He states:
Don’t fear failure. Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. In great attempts it is glorious even to fail.
In short, goal setting is the basis for growth. The only way to grow is to test your limits, and by testing your limits it’s inevitable that you will sometimes fail.
