The Easiest Wat To Identify a Great Coach
Great coaches are few and far between. When you find one, cherish that person as their coaching will be a huge difference maker in your life.
Although there are many characteristics that differentiate a great coach from all other coaches, most of these characteristics are difficult to identify on the surface level. However, there is one characteristic that stands out above all that you can quickly spot.
Great coaches develop great coaches who develop great coaches. In the sports world they call this a coaching tree. Most great coaches have one. This is because they take the time to teach the “why” behind what they do and educate those that follow their lead. This causes their greatness to spread. Other coaches want to learn from them and are ultimately motivated to spread what they learn to others.
So if you want to quickly identify a great coach, you can do two things.
- Find out who was that coach’s coach. Then find out if that coach’s coach has a coaching tree of other coaches producing great results.
- Look at that coach’s staff of coaches over the years. Then find out if the coach is developing a coaching tree that is also producing great results.
While this is not the only way to identify a great coach, it’s probably the most non-debatable means to answer this question.
