Focus and Effort vs. Results
I believe one of the secrets to success is to control what you can control, and don’t dwell on the things you can’t. Focus and effort are two things you can always control. You can’t control results.
Your focus must be on how to direct your effort in the present moment. Furthermore, how much effort you give to the present moment is a direct reflection of how bad you want something.
If you really want something bad, you will focus your effort on tasks not results. You will focus your effort on thinking about the present not the past or the future. Additionally, you will focus on competing with yourself not competing with others.
