Failing to Fail is Failing to Get Better
One of the lessons I repeatedly emphasize on this blog is that failure is not part of the process, failure is the process. It’s a fact that before you can get better you must fail.
This lesson is critically important for athletes and entrepreneurs. I often hear parents and coaches of athletes say things like there’s no such thing as failure, there’s only learning. While this makes for a good sound bite, I think this sends the wrong message. Failure is real, failure is important, and failure is not a bad word.
Therefore, if you fail at failing, you will fail at success. In addition, if you fail at failing, you will fail at building courage, resilience and mental toughness. Above all, if you fail at failing you are failing to get better.
