The Environment a Child Lacking in Self-Motivation Needs for Success
In my blog post yesterday I wanted to help parents understand that it’s not the end of the world if their child lacks self-motivation. Lacking self-motivation does not have to hinder a child from reaching their goals. However, to make sure this is the case parents of children lacking self-motivation must be intentional.
First, parents must be intentional with the values they instill in their child. I believe there are 10 core values that over time will develop self-motivation in a child who lacks it. You can read about those core values here.
Secondly, parents must be intentional with their child’s environment. A child who lacks self-motivation can thrive when they are in an environment surrounded by the right friends, teachers, and coaches.
