The Unnecessary Emotional Reason People Fail to Achieve Their Goals
Goals are the building blocks for motivation. Without goals, there is no need to do anything other than maximize pleasure and minimize pain. This is why most people have one or more goals at any given time in their life.
However, the fact of the matter is most people fail to achieve their goals. Everything from New Year’s resolutions to fitness goals to financial goals. It doesn’t matter the type of goal, the common thread is that most people never reach their goals.
For me, this is one of the saddest parts of human existence. To have a goal that you never achieve is painful. Especially when you know there is nothing legally, physically, or mentally preventing you from achieving it. So what then could be holding someone back from achieving their goals?
You Know When You Don’t Deserve to Achieve Your Goal
There is one thing for sure that causes people to fail to achieve their goal. It’s when they know in their heart they don’t deserve it. Yes, this is a fatal emotion to have when in pursuit of a goal. What’s more, this emotion is usually the result of one or two failures.
- Failure to create a step by step plan that maps out a clear path to achieving your goals.
- Failure to make the sacrifices required for achieving your goals
On the other hand, when you do these two things, there’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t feel like you deserve to achieve your goals. Furthermore, doing what it takes to feel like you deserve it is under your control. So if you ever feel that you don’t deserve something, you must remember that this emotion is completely unnecessary.
