Why Your Sports Family Needs a Written Plan

Why Your Sports Family Needs a Written Plan

If you are like me, you have big dreams for your children. You believe the sky is the limit. The only thing that can hold them back is their motivation to keep going as goals get progressively harder as they get older.

Dream big, work hard, bounce back from failure, and keep pursuing bigger goals. This is how all sports parents think. This is what we try to teach our kids. However, very rarely do we put pen to paper and map out a plan.

What’s the dream? Not some pie in the sky dream. A measurable, time-bound dream that a child can work to achieve by checking off action items.

What are the non-sports dreams? The fact is that athletic careers are by nature temporary. For this reason you must plan for what will be next. Is it coaching, sports psychology, business, teaching, physical therapy, or something else?

What’s your plan for bouncing back from failure? Failure is part of the process. Therefore, you must face failure head on. If you know failure is going to happen, then it’s irresponsible not to plan for it.

Every Big Dream Deserves a Professionally Written Plan

If your child has big dreams, and you have big dreams for them, then you both deserve a plan. Not just any plan. A professionally written plan that maps out how to systematically achieve those dreams.

A plan that’s based on taking advantage of you and your child’s innate talents and gifts. Then using those innate talents and gifts to strengthen the probability of your inevitable success. In addition, your plan must be sustainable. Therefore, the plan must be based on how you and your child are naturally wired to be motivated.

Creating a plan like this is not something that can be done haphazardly. Unquestionably, it requires that you care enough to invest in bringing in professional help. Someone who will not just help you build a plan, but will help you build your masterpiece.

This is what I do and this is what I’m passionate about. It would be my honor to help you. If you are interested in participating in one of my parent / child coaching programs, contact me here.
