What Does It Mean to Level Up?

What Does It Mean to Level Up?

Today I was struck by a line in an article titled Opportunity costs just went up written by Seth Godin. Godin writes:

We only get the next hour once, and then it’s gone forever.

He continues by making a fairly profound argument on why we each should do our best to use our time wisely. More specifically, we should use our time to “level up” instead of doing things that don’t matter.

The concept of leveling-up is a consistent mantra of Godin. His definition of level-up is typically described in the context of one of the following:

  • Making a bigger difference
  • Learning a new skill
  • Being generous in your work
  • Challenging yourself

With this in mind, the question for you is simple. What can you do right now for one hour to level up?
